Super cute, right? Ridiculously time consuming, though. :) The color choice makes it kinda hippy- looking, haha.<br />

If I had had more time before my daughter's candy land themed birthday party, this would have been a cute design for my nails in her color theme! <br />

<br />
This was a very pretty glitter polish I picked up at my local Kmart that is going out of business. origionally it was going to be a gift... but then I kept it lol. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAh2PAFU-7CPB29gK0AI3PuuU_AlrKCWZooD6EAeXe8Mq_oGRmcFB-b5vJ-oqz28prYsy8LZFdhIZyngEO1B-LU80igVKLqqRdtByRWfl40XzjpSQG1ZDPkvX3ejEkI6J5LaBJDE4-4QRz/s1600/DSCN3916.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAh2PAFU-7CPB29gK0AI3PuuU_AlrKCWZooD6EAeXe8Mq_oGRmcFB-b5vJ-oqz28prYsy8LZFdhIZyngEO1B-LU80igVKLqqRdtByRWfl40XzjpSQG1ZDPkvX3ejEkI6J5LaBJDE4-4QRz/s320/DSCN3916.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I tried it over a few colors before i decided I liked it over black the most. It went on really nice and I loved that it has different sized glitters in it. The only thin gI did not like is theat it was a b#!&H to get off! But of course I knew that going into this because it was a glitter polish and those are always hard to get off! But I just used the <a href="http://prettyinpolish0.blogspot.com/2012/04/how-to-remove-your-nail-polish-with-tin.html" target="_blank">tin foil method</a> to take it off and it didnt suck as much as it could have.<br />

<br />
I called this drippy nail art because I couldn't figure out a good name to call it and it looked drippy to me. :) I saw this on <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/37788084344457944/" target="_blank">pintrest</a> origionally and it looked so easy to do before the night was over I had a brand new mani! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5r1BMZcSGjLhs70k40zCK5S9GOYUUfnySwtRvwGSaUZW7gxm0llqvzrOp2PKTtJculEf-JZxJKKg9HP_ftXyyng_6mKzwHMoVlTETtyz37amOgai_pd_MF4m7MVMZRk84htQ4yRPXpeIF/s1600/DSCN4085.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5r1BMZcSGjLhs70k40zCK5S9GOYUUfnySwtRvwGSaUZW7gxm0llqvzrOp2PKTtJculEf-JZxJKKg9HP_ftXyyng_6mKzwHMoVlTETtyz37amOgai_pd_MF4m7MVMZRk84htQ4yRPXpeIF/s320/DSCN4085.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
First things first I used Finger Paints - 15 Minutes of Frame, Wet andvWild - Black Creme and Seche vite top coat for this mani. I also used a new dotting tool that I got off ebay to do the dots but you can very easily use a tooth pick or bobby pin or jsut a regular pen. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjswNripNnxEW-_Fpw0W9HK-0eV0KaDPri4fXQN9YaujbXsvBYlDCzwORBZUBj0H0DYU_KiLpPupgtvBkI0dpQru1NOLYuGFQbQMIhUsu1p1AEMiY4bV-hZBDAQHQxaonCIp9JM6zWE5Dvo/s1600/DSCN4074.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjswNripNnxEW-_Fpw0W9HK-0eV0KaDPri4fXQN9YaujbXsvBYlDCzwORBZUBj0H0DYU_KiLpPupgtvBkI0dpQru1NOLYuGFQbQMIhUsu1p1AEMiY4bV-hZBDAQHQxaonCIp9JM6zWE5Dvo/s320/DSCN4074.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I started off with a coat of Finger Paints - 15 Minute of Frame. I don't really get the name of this polish but I am IN LOVE!!! This color has litterally been on my nails in one way or another since I bought it. Its much more green in person but its beautiful and I love it and you should go buy it now! lol <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVNlakaR9Gn-aY05INf0RnRZg88B0lPvrEHq25Dd02xuamyfVHJa7VsspdqScRoIQh_1C6kU7UAukoDzW8GO_t2xqOQqiHKADUxwr905wN3AWE2-n4gOUkn4aDnyPzax9HpFil0qe_slU-/s1600/DSCN4077.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVNlakaR9Gn-aY05INf0RnRZg88B0lPvrEHq25Dd02xuamyfVHJa7VsspdqScRoIQh_1C6kU7UAukoDzW8GO_t2xqOQqiHKADUxwr905wN3AWE2-n4gOUkn4aDnyPzax9HpFil0qe_slU-/s320/DSCN4077.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
After the base coat I painted a diagional stripe across the front of my nails I tried to make them all the same size but how straight the line is really doesn't matter because the design is going to go right over the top of it. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBlJ5CRmJ3F8jjHE_qwppCpgk4sgZirJrIjddeHEA3QYHpPjZtLbSsWqcbvArzr2dEQ8A_E_CpY6yKo1WfXtFcu6WosHYGMDtHkkKv1r904en3RpBTeG4_0c3cb4ryM4h3LLcKaqRoWmHK/s1600/DSCN4079.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBlJ5CRmJ3F8jjHE_qwppCpgk4sgZirJrIjddeHEA3QYHpPjZtLbSsWqcbvArzr2dEQ8A_E_CpY6yKo1WfXtFcu6WosHYGMDtHkkKv1r904en3RpBTeG4_0c3cb4ryM4h3LLcKaqRoWmHK/s320/DSCN4079.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Next step is to take your dotting tool, which ever one you decided to use, and make a few dots across the line in one color. And then you do the same thing on the other side. The effect this gives is so crazy awesome because it's such a simple design to do your self. I was a little worried about the blue not showing up in the black but I tested it out first on one of my nail wheels and it really wasn't a big deal. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbtrjrk2HywD7B2jeFvdqQMfMiAoaUkoreoF7oLloO5fdSZfDdPUVc1-yruI7jXR9AYMVvz_vXpgja-dVvJQ4yi1malkFyAefz1oGZTOjJDWZ5ijCR6tFF4FfAaXG61pg2rGm9SLD235lh/s1600/DSCN4088.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbtrjrk2HywD7B2jeFvdqQMfMiAoaUkoreoF7oLloO5fdSZfDdPUVc1-yruI7jXR9AYMVvz_vXpgja-dVvJQ4yi1malkFyAefz1oGZTOjJDWZ5ijCR6tFF4FfAaXG61pg2rGm9SLD235lh/s320/DSCN4088.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The color options for this look are endless and you could do smaller dots or bigger more or less. You can really switch up this mani and make it your own! And hey if you decide to try this mani out for your self why not show me? Post a pic of your mani on our <a href="http://www.facebook.com/PrettyInPolish0" target="_blank">facebook page</a> and show it off! <br />

Your mani looks perfect edges clean, polish smooth, and top coat applied and shiny and then you look down to admire your work and DUN DUN DUN you touched something and smudged your nail... ugh <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTIGuXPOXLyDvZhCsoAlzibWTRxpFWMvL5JCIu9ujmEKQYwq10xRNypblAZIddg2zIlb3GIfK1_vJNK-OQYxmbVdjbjNHz3aivWTwXYg-eLTmwUBmuL5OWakUxktX_dI0SvGt6MNAReV3T/s1600/DSCN4014.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTIGuXPOXLyDvZhCsoAlzibWTRxpFWMvL5JCIu9ujmEKQYwq10xRNypblAZIddg2zIlb3GIfK1_vJNK-OQYxmbVdjbjNHz3aivWTwXYg-eLTmwUBmuL5OWakUxktX_dI0SvGt6MNAReV3T/s400/DSCN4014.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Now you have to deal with it or redo the entire nail possibly ruining more nails in the process. But don't worry I have a trick that is nail safe and you don't have to start all over again! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiI8iERmPbA4WCB51fbALL7k9OPu6B8xSzO1APO3bd77VQPscA2VOyqNdOD1dtUFa8thKSyWB6O9ZzzIw9Zle_NPWBX6aIP69Vex6mQfDvfuPW1pAKAmViu17VN0erlQm1vnylSmE4OxsR7/s1600/DSCN4016.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiI8iERmPbA4WCB51fbALL7k9OPu6B8xSzO1APO3bd77VQPscA2VOyqNdOD1dtUFa8thKSyWB6O9ZzzIw9Zle_NPWBX6aIP69Vex6mQfDvfuPW1pAKAmViu17VN0erlQm1vnylSmE4OxsR7/s320/DSCN4016.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
All you need is some nail polish remover (I use pure acetone) and a flat paint brush. I used the one I use when I'm cleaning up after I do my nails. Ok first step, put a little remover into the cap and dip your brush in wipe it on the sides of the cap when you take it out so you have too much remover on your brush. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZy8SjnkU1gqzAF9MIrHlMzmKzQnabTT43lEzGjo3OVH3U9mjBdZog_GUtaUe909MppLFBsm8pq_cN4gpUtQfjH1MVgobns9cHz4HORss6Ic4BSHKpHQAU4wPpAgwyaCtOCAm-hTtb2aQ-/s1600/DSCN4018.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZy8SjnkU1gqzAF9MIrHlMzmKzQnabTT43lEzGjo3OVH3U9mjBdZog_GUtaUe909MppLFBsm8pq_cN4gpUtQfjH1MVgobns9cHz4HORss6Ic4BSHKpHQAU4wPpAgwyaCtOCAm-hTtb2aQ-/s320/DSCN4018.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
After that "paint" your nails with the remover until the paint smudge is flat and smooth. Don't worry if there are imperfections we can fix that. You just want it smooth. After everything is smoothed out then apply a coat of polish over top and tah dah! your Oopps is fixed apply your top coat and your done! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUuV4bX82yMI-XIPZZKIVDINmiWXSid1qKTTVdGiw-0KNyQo_p16JmQJFqQR7s7AdJZg75sNcUArwG5mqgZ_7J6Zc5S-oY77JDrLojpOcr4smr3sClYP8B2nJOsCNS-5jt6T7FTQu05_Ur/s1600/DSCN4026.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUuV4bX82yMI-XIPZZKIVDINmiWXSid1qKTTVdGiw-0KNyQo_p16JmQJFqQR7s7AdJZg75sNcUArwG5mqgZ_7J6Zc5S-oY77JDrLojpOcr4smr3sClYP8B2nJOsCNS-5jt6T7FTQu05_Ur/s320/DSCN4026.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Looks like the Oopps never happened! :) Its a quick fix for any Oopps you might have in your nail polish. Now of course if you have any kinda of design on your nails this technique probably won't work but for just a basic mani its perfect! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
By the way this is an Essie Mani I did to try and please my job's new rule that we can't have "wild" nails any more. It's a bit boring for me but I'm learning to live with it and see how far I can push my "wild" nails :) The dark pink is called Fancy Delancy and the light pink is called Raise Awareness. <br />
<br />
As always thank you for reading and I hope I helped you out with any little Ooopps you get from now on! <br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
So I have always suffered with doing a leopard print on my nails. no matter how many tutorials I've watched and no matter how many times I've tried I've always came up disappointed. But not today! I have finally unlocked the leopard secret and I'm very willing to share that with you. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicLgC-UgzlXnU2az1tIeftCCpO71uNM0T8sMyqcYDyNQKM7hBR7J2Lr2LsHoWxMaKkMyVQIsplfTy6MYs9v77f22Cf83CxmPuT0vHxBas_xsRaphsk7xN0GX7BFJLi7jQ3QmxirO7JfB1X/s1600/DSCN4060.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicLgC-UgzlXnU2az1tIeftCCpO71uNM0T8sMyqcYDyNQKM7hBR7J2Lr2LsHoWxMaKkMyVQIsplfTy6MYs9v77f22Cf83CxmPuT0vHxBas_xsRaphsk7xN0GX7BFJLi7jQ3QmxirO7JfB1X/s320/DSCN4060.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
OK first of course start with your favorite base coat and as you all learned in my last post <a href="http://prettyinpolish0.blogspot.com/2012/07/base-coat-to-die-for.html" target="_blank">Seche Vite Rebuild</a> is my absolute favorite. After that I Painted one coat of Nina Ultra Pro - Big Spender, and on top of that I used two coats of Sinful Colors - All About You. For the inside of the dots I used China Glaze - Heart of Africa and for the outside of the dots Wet and Wild - Black Creme. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiffJofoPQC1lCa0pHDMnBtiosU7hOUJ0moRNztjeFZlTaQL82ohdTDjXJW8VM9dNaXtlYg-4tfT8yPiMV5LA4okjIbMfNWsBXhVUA1mEyIzDtf6H9GcYslYNN9G1aMpUQ-nRFP8PNTrobx/s1600/DSCN4029.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiffJofoPQC1lCa0pHDMnBtiosU7hOUJ0moRNztjeFZlTaQL82ohdTDjXJW8VM9dNaXtlYg-4tfT8yPiMV5LA4okjIbMfNWsBXhVUA1mEyIzDtf6H9GcYslYNN9G1aMpUQ-nRFP8PNTrobx/s320/DSCN4029.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This is what my base color looked like. I actually had to shop around a little bit and experiment to get this really pretty orangey gold color but it turned out really nice. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5M1RluDE8vsz27TB-ROXekMnAwI5oxL8PxyQlTx8mPwgIUwsB0n50fan8nuyJxX_xcq_dA8FabxqcVCD4oOJkiOKdKdMlq0YRorcmHRaL5K84TR8CoF60TAPXeW98n3eFWcltPdV4TgcQ/s1600/DSCN4035.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5M1RluDE8vsz27TB-ROXekMnAwI5oxL8PxyQlTx8mPwgIUwsB0n50fan8nuyJxX_xcq_dA8FabxqcVCD4oOJkiOKdKdMlq0YRorcmHRaL5K84TR8CoF60TAPXeW98n3eFWcltPdV4TgcQ/s320/DSCN4035.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
First step in the leopard spots is to use a tooth pick or a dotting tool to make little blobs all over your nails. The trick is actually to not be perfect it the blobs are too uniform then it won't look like real leopard spots. It will look too forced and that's the problem I had with my spots for a long time. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZ-3CMW_B2I3OF6vzT9ZVKImVVB9xzM_iv0mjqcgldyI-b0WlUZFwTxDANM0usjaVodTjS1Tc2gsAZrVOm4vq_IC9gWONmbCHDV0H-C0lOjoRh0aI1gLkkg7vj2RoE2YKSVC81ihlKeW74/s1600/DSCN4043.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZ-3CMW_B2I3OF6vzT9ZVKImVVB9xzM_iv0mjqcgldyI-b0WlUZFwTxDANM0usjaVodTjS1Tc2gsAZrVOm4vq_IC9gWONmbCHDV0H-C0lOjoRh0aI1gLkkg7vj2RoE2YKSVC81ihlKeW74/s320/DSCN4043.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Second and last painting step, after you make your inside blobs you have to make little C like shapes around them. Just like the blobs these can't be perfect or they won't look right. And I suggest not using a striper to do these or else your lines are too straight and end up looking like my <a href="http://prettyinpolish0.blogspot.com/2012/06/yabadabadooooo-fred-flinstone-nails.html" target="_blank">Fred Flinstone</a> nails. I used a dotting tool but you can very easily use a tooth pick to get this look as well. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBagEXYSu8YOXGkwRqk2cjMIuOX1FBCky0uTcYeqD9MhrECdrrdI3dXSkjLhQ8RSnnxsA89qgGWIJazKRP3EN4eHc3PiT-DVhA5eO88bpt_nsqBK_B5ZQWZy5MS9SwwVPOGj65mxjE6chQ/s1600/DSCN4050.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBagEXYSu8YOXGkwRqk2cjMIuOX1FBCky0uTcYeqD9MhrECdrrdI3dXSkjLhQ8RSnnxsA89qgGWIJazKRP3EN4eHc3PiT-DVhA5eO88bpt_nsqBK_B5ZQWZy5MS9SwwVPOGj65mxjE6chQ/s320/DSCN4050.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Last step is to clean up your edges and apply your top coat which ever one you want. :) I always used my favorite Seche Vite because I think it gives off the most shine. But sometimes I have a problem with shrinking when I use it. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

It's ten easy steps and if you wanna See what I do then you can check it out here <a href="http://prettyinpolish0.blogspot.com/2012/05/ten-steps-to-my-perfect-manicure.html" target="_blank">10 steps to my perfect manicure! </a> But most of the time when I do my nails I only do about half of these things file, base coat, polish, and top coat easy peasy. This post is about a base coat that I recently found that is just to die for! Its called Seche Rebuild. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXnfIfdFFcZi-SZXtJCVxwH4mU8d6Pbq0eZYmgW3QDDmrqI3QmzExlp6qXTYpXX-mShB7IwXSibvRqLineY5cscQuNcVEnm1p4aj6Q2TItU7DOSVhlhYkoGhMmCLIrm4gtjvswfdY8XNL7/s1600/410XzF1vtWL__SL500_AA300_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXnfIfdFFcZi-SZXtJCVxwH4mU8d6Pbq0eZYmgW3QDDmrqI3QmzExlp6qXTYpXX-mShB7IwXSibvRqLineY5cscQuNcVEnm1p4aj6Q2TItU7DOSVhlhYkoGhMmCLIrm4gtjvswfdY8XNL7/s1600/410XzF1vtWL__SL500_AA300_.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
I bought my bottle at Sally's and it came in a box like in the picture and this polish is amazing! I use it every time I do my nails! On the box it says that it is a unique protein formula that seals the layers of your nail together making it stronger and thicker and less likely to peel or break. I was a little skeptical at first because I feel like I've tried dozens of products that say they're going to do the same thing but this one actually works! Its weird because when you paint it on your nails you can almost feel it, like its really getting into your nails and with in one week, probably about 4 applications, I noticed a difference. My nails are harder and just feel stronger. I keep my nails pretty short most of the time because with the job I have its kind of impossible to have nice long nails but since I've been using this as my base coat I've been growing them out and they have stayed long for a longer then normal without breaking or peeling. The only thing that's sad about this polish is that about a week ago I was at Sally's and it was on the clearance rack and I asked the lady and she said that they are discontinuing it in the stores which made me sad but I did manage to buy the rest my Sally's had for the clearance price :) <br />
<br />
I hope you can find this product to try out because it really is awesome, and if you do let me know how it works for you and if you have any other base coat you just love I'd like to know about it them as well. <br />
This is what I used; a base coat of Seche Vite Rebuild(I can't say enough good things about this stuff!), China Glaze - Aquadelic, Nina Ultra Pro - Pink Flamingo, Sinful Colors - Snow me White, and of course Seche Vite Top Coat.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJjcLYGYFaHb_2jSpp5_NB8tUlzCfdxjn19XbBVc1aIV8Sgje31Rz21moPdvaHSX8bpCW1UaJa4SVacN41ltoB04TshQahEmA3JE1q055G-kE0-GIzpjzdF8zkhzkanwCXPU189E9RpaTL/s1600/DSCN3628.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJjcLYGYFaHb_2jSpp5_NB8tUlzCfdxjn19XbBVc1aIV8Sgje31Rz21moPdvaHSX8bpCW1UaJa4SVacN41ltoB04TshQahEmA3JE1q055G-kE0-GIzpjzdF8zkhzkanwCXPU189E9RpaTL/s320/DSCN3628.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Ok so first I started out with a base coat of Aquadelic. Then I took an old paint brush and painted the tip of it with Pink Flamingo, and then I just took my thumb and sprayed the paint on my nails by running my thumb across the brush. I did this over a paper plate just so I didn't get paint every where. I did one nail at a time and did the pink and then followed with the white, taking the dried nail polish off of the tooth brush with polish remover when it got to be too much. Now after I finished with my little splatters I took the paint and a tooth pick and made larger spots on my nails just to give my nails a little different look. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSMWnFS0H7ASzwyL7R-WkZ09lhgQ8CrNABbvntK4_H7pTn5U9Gftlaq5VL1rZtSxFA5E4KMgdF8UGQfjZN4-hd9xxz8Rbw3IjJanopwA81Oe2xQj33ZUgGiOg-wdlnk9XhoU1ROvGkuSfy/s1600/DSCN3641.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSMWnFS0H7ASzwyL7R-WkZ09lhgQ8CrNABbvntK4_H7pTn5U9Gftlaq5VL1rZtSxFA5E4KMgdF8UGQfjZN4-hd9xxz8Rbw3IjJanopwA81Oe2xQj33ZUgGiOg-wdlnk9XhoU1ROvGkuSfy/s320/DSCN3641.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Ok now there was a lot of clean up and I probably would have taped off my nails like I do when I do a water marble but after a few Q-tips and my angled brush they came out looking great!<br />
<br />

When I was a little kid, my parents would tell me every year that the fireworks all over were for celebrating my birthday. And of course, I believed them for a few years. LOL. So I've always loved fireworks.<br />
<br />
I was torn this year between doing my nails birthday themed or America themed. (I know, I have so many problems, right!?) So I chose fireworks- something that for me, signifies both!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEig0eQUrlDOLEmCnMnVp9TlhzLZrYamEH9QhzyAVXg-NQ8hvtiShey1HRtWitR-yVzQNZsz5bjsZldHiYBlUh3n_oLD0efH014SrJKKIyC67rUuNQAj5Hu8g7vpyxA7n2whTdm7IMXNfNE/s1600/nailson.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="345" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEig0eQUrlDOLEmCnMnVp9TlhzLZrYamEH9QhzyAVXg-NQ8hvtiShey1HRtWitR-yVzQNZsz5bjsZldHiYBlUh3n_oLD0efH014SrJKKIyC67rUuNQAj5Hu8g7vpyxA7n2whTdm7IMXNfNE/s400/nailson.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
I especially love big colorful fireworks, so that's what I did.<br />
I painted a couple coats of Sinful Colors black on black and then picked out a few colors I thought would pop. I was concerned that the non-neon colors wouldn't be as bright- but they worked so well!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUIKpYRyKK7Aors5qvx9OI5c4_kLe-S91fvTJmmzpzOIX_TDHtb_KWVTB-0cHbL5M3v-apjXX0UTEQAI0L-mhRIPpuIlcciIXA2O9DcNNHHoCIFx5zz_z8kQDcs0TzJTFJvDmoqsuXwk4/s1600/IMG_1517.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="268" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUIKpYRyKK7Aors5qvx9OI5c4_kLe-S91fvTJmmzpzOIX_TDHtb_KWVTB-0cHbL5M3v-apjXX0UTEQAI0L-mhRIPpuIlcciIXA2O9DcNNHHoCIFx5zz_z8kQDcs0TzJTFJvDmoqsuXwk4/s320/IMG_1517.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I tried different firework-painting techniques. Some I did long lines, others short. Some bent and falling and others going up and spreading. I played around by drawing fireworks on paper with chalk- a super fun 4th of July craft to do with my little girl.<br />

I actually planned to do fireworks nails for Independence Day (post to come!) instead of flag nails, but I recently bought a really pretty blue color and the mani was inspired from that. It was a really quick, easy mani that I didn't spend too much time on. After all, I do live in Germany, and most people in Germany don't celebrate America's Independence Day... LOL.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5XcXST3Ca6s9mIQAoL7jsoAl4JHyfRQT3Is1QaTAQKcvw3XOw1En-ns9roSLQrFJQWVBe-8dCG_y6dHxJhryZj5lx3srBgupbWxzvAVL3Qe3-A-AGfHwD5myeEr0Q7E7_ZN909KEF1pE/s1600/SAM_4036.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5XcXST3Ca6s9mIQAoL7jsoAl4JHyfRQT3Is1QaTAQKcvw3XOw1En-ns9roSLQrFJQWVBe-8dCG_y6dHxJhryZj5lx3srBgupbWxzvAVL3Qe3-A-AGfHwD5myeEr0Q7E7_ZN909KEF1pE/s320/SAM_4036.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
So, like I said, I started with this gorgeous cerulean blue color. It's part of Essence's "Ready for Boarding" airline collection, and it's called "via airmail."<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGaAVrmRVBFKaImfZJmZQploBkd5g9xNqfoJOgSqXMbC1QCe1jvjnATqDQLDDNz6Hy_wUEjokCjXwqPbrbmD7JZZLWTtGjZSQ54QJ1YtC3I_hHeS20Sl53JLIStnM_Texv1oanSSEOtrY/s1600/SAM_4029.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGaAVrmRVBFKaImfZJmZQploBkd5g9xNqfoJOgSqXMbC1QCe1jvjnATqDQLDDNz6Hy_wUEjokCjXwqPbrbmD7JZZLWTtGjZSQ54QJ1YtC3I_hHeS20Sl53JLIStnM_Texv1oanSSEOtrY/s320/SAM_4029.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhk4eJiBFLkxnfSzal4ZoVzWhDpoDMX5W9d4j4Jm6lLX_7z4stEpnQmKiZOXLz8KFdXR_wwEQ42G08ZOY_bPO7vAy0SF1Euc2B4GpgemwyIRt1HMpLE5ad9J6b2SI2Mb0U6uiw193LpLEc/s1600/SAM_4030.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhk4eJiBFLkxnfSzal4ZoVzWhDpoDMX5W9d4j4Jm6lLX_7z4stEpnQmKiZOXLz8KFdXR_wwEQ42G08ZOY_bPO7vAy0SF1Euc2B4GpgemwyIRt1HMpLE5ad9J6b2SI2Mb0U6uiw193LpLEc/s320/SAM_4030.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Pretty, isnt it?<br />
I then layered two fingers on each hand with a red from Eva Supreme color. I did quick white brush strokes with a French Mani white from Rival de Loop. I was about to draw some stars when I remembered some 3d star glitter I have.<br />
I started with just a few stars on each blue nail, and thought it looked too plain, haha. So I clumped them on heavy trying to achieve a clumpy type of look. It kind of worked. LOL.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIPd_Z7eyB_6IlktXKJaKg0BmB_VU8E9gJwpwnJLdLy155ep6bg6t0EJg_zk1CFzBMTRufG4h0XAH3nIlKBpL6SB8n6VGNTJWQOQV-7SkNt45VbDIrX9vUaj5mvExye-8_aYKwGyvmmOQ/s1600/SAM_4032.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIPd_Z7eyB_6IlktXKJaKg0BmB_VU8E9gJwpwnJLdLy155ep6bg6t0EJg_zk1CFzBMTRufG4h0XAH3nIlKBpL6SB8n6VGNTJWQOQV-7SkNt45VbDIrX9vUaj5mvExye-8_aYKwGyvmmOQ/s400/SAM_4032.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
I applied the glitter with a clear NYC top coat.<br />

Finished with a couple coats of Seche Vite to lock in the glitter.<br />
<br />
This mani took me all of 15 minutes and looked really cute!<br />

<br />
These nail where done using a simple technique and I'm sure with a little practice and tome anyone can achieve what I did!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglAtxoc3LssFa_2S3zLhWGGF0zviCz5REzcsznuOKlrD33OFpuiIaHofLuKDjZJXPo-0Ps1y_leKE60u7gKXTRLEquVQTn-GS-fQTDdstIKYBL4fJ49-6JcOVMN4d9Wtde7LxWIz3pL03S/s1600/DSCN3710.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglAtxoc3LssFa_2S3zLhWGGF0zviCz5REzcsznuOKlrD33OFpuiIaHofLuKDjZJXPo-0Ps1y_leKE60u7gKXTRLEquVQTn-GS-fQTDdstIKYBL4fJ49-6JcOVMN4d9Wtde7LxWIz3pL03S/s320/DSCN3710.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Here's what I used; Seche Rebuild as my base coat, Essie - Boat House as my red, Sinful colors - White on white as my white, China Glaze - Frostbite as my blue and of course Seche Vite as my top coat. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLbQHvV08LpZfqrLCG4X5aipCXNMo0GsbzWuFnRm9EsjDc2cBeiQiRU9shup_kZhbIER7fsybM_aWzfzp-Wp5Zuw6WCc4WtUq5PYfycNsWUc0C_tYxlLoHeVJCV8C6wwYfpb54SlwVS_BN/s1600/DSCN3688.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="232" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLbQHvV08LpZfqrLCG4X5aipCXNMo0GsbzWuFnRm9EsjDc2cBeiQiRU9shup_kZhbIER7fsybM_aWzfzp-Wp5Zuw6WCc4WtUq5PYfycNsWUc0C_tYxlLoHeVJCV8C6wwYfpb54SlwVS_BN/s320/DSCN3688.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
First start with a base coat of White on White. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiKlRV-q3eiykzEuQmCmW92Vr9y5D6lljzGfFSqxawMHCmkFfqWWbPUG3nc5oNrW7S114bqB4iV9kgp4K9YAsVekNc48naRBL4NOUrm5Nlcfg_cnVNQV9XJ4fI78ZSIMbe6VdrXDUddWXb/s1600/DSCN3690.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiKlRV-q3eiykzEuQmCmW92Vr9y5D6lljzGfFSqxawMHCmkFfqWWbPUG3nc5oNrW7S114bqB4iV9kgp4K9YAsVekNc48naRBL4NOUrm5Nlcfg_cnVNQV9XJ4fI78ZSIMbe6VdrXDUddWXb/s320/DSCN3690.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Then I used masking tape to tape off the tips just to make a nice clean line across the tip. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4p1UqkFm_QWdfNQp0bGFkqFCRFqZDRBg5XwAmKo_XSx9ZtXFsZAxY_JEvhUlmGop1kx79ZzGTX2BNFtyg0ZMRdg_0f6TF1NSe66THJdjj0SN-zZ0jO9f6ED7-nZI8lxlY04Nh-nJ0Qahu/s1600/DSCN3694.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4p1UqkFm_QWdfNQp0bGFkqFCRFqZDRBg5XwAmKo_XSx9ZtXFsZAxY_JEvhUlmGop1kx79ZzGTX2BNFtyg0ZMRdg_0f6TF1NSe66THJdjj0SN-zZ0jO9f6ED7-nZI8lxlY04Nh-nJ0Qahu/s320/DSCN3694.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I painted blue over the tips. The tape makes it really easy to paint because you don't have to worry about getting the line perfectly straight. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxL-aUcZyBBDOmsp3hbIjhZQum1ZipJ1RRcLrGlgzUF8I7ZOJnTx1aPqDRUMpYSw46-jpcGk8mj7FWt8NcHn6qaxvbp8oCQ3poWn0ELCQggW_xHctKAb2rfoNlXWZhQGJYsWMoj61uP_AS/s1600/DSCN3695.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxL-aUcZyBBDOmsp3hbIjhZQum1ZipJ1RRcLrGlgzUF8I7ZOJnTx1aPqDRUMpYSw46-jpcGk8mj7FWt8NcHn6qaxvbp8oCQ3poWn0ELCQggW_xHctKAb2rfoNlXWZhQGJYsWMoj61uP_AS/s320/DSCN3695.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
See pretty cool huh? You want to take the tape off right after you paint your nails because if the paint dries too much then the nice clean line you want will get messed up. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhESAWNY52Akfpmo6O-3xYBL0XlWtgQGyGeAb6TBzKHDg3fMZjUIb2aaTxxWV0TNBU7M5NSi3_ujK_Bg2bmJ7yZNEUzrPQFi6rE7uuNoHBNfvdVwb1YaR8EjWs6djcwAxtQU04N9LebQ5vc/s1600/DSCN3705.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhESAWNY52Akfpmo6O-3xYBL0XlWtgQGyGeAb6TBzKHDg3fMZjUIb2aaTxxWV0TNBU7M5NSi3_ujK_Bg2bmJ7yZNEUzrPQFi6rE7uuNoHBNfvdVwb1YaR8EjWs6djcwAxtQU04N9LebQ5vc/s320/DSCN3705.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I used tape for the red lines as well. If i where to do this design again I think I would just free hand the lines because I think that would have been easier then cutting up all those pieces of tape because none ended up being the same size. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7i5iOtWyGVMmoCzPJ5wM5hOydb1j5YHcfiqhA7qmKOka34udqX9WxS_CAAXPl6MhLNuZUjZ_e1Q9Oa9EYcA1O1pEmS6-YSPUHfBNrvdoXftMxIW5DRTJAmaiRSqw7mUPqT4S7H78jTxTn/s1600/DSCN3708.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7i5iOtWyGVMmoCzPJ5wM5hOydb1j5YHcfiqhA7qmKOka34udqX9WxS_CAAXPl6MhLNuZUjZ_e1Q9Oa9EYcA1O1pEmS6-YSPUHfBNrvdoXftMxIW5DRTJAmaiRSqw7mUPqT4S7H78jTxTn/s320/DSCN3708.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This is what it looked like with out the tape. Yes it needs to be cleaned up but its not too bad :) <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-bo2VkQKBSP4chSDxRi2k7ibpWcJUv67KmKQSY-3EXAVEuHiEaF9i-6ker-EVyj0v2b0vtvWMZrP8Jl2Ss0hmffpjiYWTtWaNm1BLZJBUB1NH7RMoe7Xa7UbO8ooFG1_lFf6bisCgrKcx/s1600/DSCN3717.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-bo2VkQKBSP4chSDxRi2k7ibpWcJUv67KmKQSY-3EXAVEuHiEaF9i-6ker-EVyj0v2b0vtvWMZrP8Jl2Ss0hmffpjiYWTtWaNm1BLZJBUB1NH7RMoe7Xa7UbO8ooFG1_lFf6bisCgrKcx/s320/DSCN3717.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The thought of painting actual stars on my nails did cross my mind but I also thought that little dots would look just as good and I wouldn't rip my hair trying to get all the stars to look the same. I just used a tooth pick for the little dots. <br />

Ya I'm not sure how to explain it so I'm just going to show you. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgc3qdNGPsZ9Sjcehbb1Her6WhKEvYLNYLtrUS1_J9rnMWePG7lsOFA1I3O9yAojut9poNgKv2Nm8EUmiBzk8B5x5HnZaH_Yoz4oLX6QmIwr6vYUagCZthk-93AnIir5BKJXPPANzLBl8gw/s1600/DSCN3581.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgc3qdNGPsZ9Sjcehbb1Her6WhKEvYLNYLtrUS1_J9rnMWePG7lsOFA1I3O9yAojut9poNgKv2Nm8EUmiBzk8B5x5HnZaH_Yoz4oLX6QmIwr6vYUagCZthk-93AnIir5BKJXPPANzLBl8gw/s320/DSCN3581.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
See what I mean? Now I did these on the fly so please ignore the slight mistakes but not everyone can be perfect! lol Plus from far away(like most people are when they look at your nails) you cant even tell!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgB9TVI3vvfIZPzuHIfxMnWq1T_uC_mTBOFbWBXyjrTERLczVksXJUWdM1Dp1vl_4ZZBNCbCRke0IH75fnUUNdDHJcOYJOE0kkgQ2GpEXbgRApi1EBotCyDT1fxD99PWb2mfs3sVLaZ2iF0/s1600/DSCN3568.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgB9TVI3vvfIZPzuHIfxMnWq1T_uC_mTBOFbWBXyjrTERLczVksXJUWdM1Dp1vl_4ZZBNCbCRke0IH75fnUUNdDHJcOYJOE0kkgQ2GpEXbgRApi1EBotCyDT1fxD99PWb2mfs3sVLaZ2iF0/s320/DSCN3568.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
So First I started out with a base coat of China Glaze - Aquadelic One of my favorite colors ever! The stripes are Revolon Top Speed - Royal(another favorite) and I just used a black striper for the black stripes. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLg06F6KM5YKxJ49J175aVVnnMaOCHxMmNxHTziihpQWEmoQQgJmQQbGEP2XHqOpVUjqVPWveySvbhDYuPrmR5VdH-Lg6BzWt0qxMmhxOhGO-FkYerXhjIJUCGDF7hP3bZiaMov84wGvKD/s1600/DSCN3570.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLg06F6KM5YKxJ49J175aVVnnMaOCHxMmNxHTziihpQWEmoQQgJmQQbGEP2XHqOpVUjqVPWveySvbhDYuPrmR5VdH-Lg6BzWt0qxMmhxOhGO-FkYerXhjIJUCGDF7hP3bZiaMov84wGvKD/s320/DSCN3570.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Ok so this is how I did it. I used little pieces of tape to tape off the areas I wanted to stay light blue and then painted over it in the dark blue and before it was dry i took off the paint to leave the design. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiwx-KxWFK4dIQVPpH2FFcIPAHx_Wyt0nUDlS-_Vlz4Rti1_9c6ZVpQfOGqYQjHcSFlWSIhM6wFUVHa76_nXHm8ZeZywqPoAjd9yo3WtEmEIlSP4k5sma8iKgGqgw2sH_nfnqLilHeKcqV/s1600/DSCN3572.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiwx-KxWFK4dIQVPpH2FFcIPAHx_Wyt0nUDlS-_Vlz4Rti1_9c6ZVpQfOGqYQjHcSFlWSIhM6wFUVHa76_nXHm8ZeZywqPoAjd9yo3WtEmEIlSP4k5sma8iKgGqgw2sH_nfnqLilHeKcqV/s320/DSCN3572.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I don't know if you can tell in this picture or not but the tape I was using didn't really stick that well and it bled a little but that gave me the bright idea to add the black stripe along all of the dark blue. I'm glad I did this because I think it really made the design pop! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6AikOFaxFHe8HR2-KLUMhTIfddUsM1xTlfcEtIOPSHSq0ptMbi-prY-6NwHNH3eiiJjqhElSr33mplLhgqcUmMDPNc62NK3pOu5VjhPtPXbsa6PRMk7TAC0mgWeyzxrqkJalZ5Tg0LDme/s1600/DSCN3580.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6AikOFaxFHe8HR2-KLUMhTIfddUsM1xTlfcEtIOPSHSq0ptMbi-prY-6NwHNH3eiiJjqhElSr33mplLhgqcUmMDPNc62NK3pOu5VjhPtPXbsa6PRMk7TAC0mgWeyzxrqkJalZ5Tg0LDme/s320/DSCN3580.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
These where super easy to do and like I said I did them on the fly and even managed to take pictures while I did them so I know any one can do these! On some fingers I alternated the way I placed the tape, either facing up or down and alternated where exactly I put them. Thats why none of them really look the same. I think next time I'll try to do lots of different colors! maybe a different one on each finger? and I'll use better tape too! There is just SO many posibilities with this design! <br />
<br />

The collection itself consists of seven polish colors— one for each of the seven dwarfs— and three "special effect toppers." I was immediately drawn to the display in the store, but I wasn't thrilled with the seven colors. I did, however, really like two of the three toppers.<br />

I started with TWO layers of a base coat, in this case, I used Seche Base. I recommend two layers of base coat any time you want to apply serious glitter or sparkle to your nail, simply because it protects your nail bed.<br />
<br />
Then I used The Color Workshop Nala nail color in Bronze as a base color. I needed two coats of this color to get the pretty mocha-ish color I was looking for.<br />
<br />
One coat: <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiOgdDjFDuLXvXUN5hvdITkU1RQ2hy0ofrbh_pfK698401pb19lxK4KsRsSl7ITa0GaaSIxvp8bMnB2znZoZzC9raEpP2ru980p9_3cAU0d9UHhRmxbA89FjNQa6QR2MtgeR2y_3ClZBE/s1600/SAM_3682.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiOgdDjFDuLXvXUN5hvdITkU1RQ2hy0ofrbh_pfK698401pb19lxK4KsRsSl7ITa0GaaSIxvp8bMnB2znZoZzC9raEpP2ru980p9_3cAU0d9UHhRmxbA89FjNQa6QR2MtgeR2y_3ClZBE/s400/SAM_3682.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
Two coats:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjg3fgGLd0OX9iBnTHfppnDXNoXCDDPbPCFuKl9_-FAcv_W4kW6BBOqZZMCm7q0BbgibAEZx-cgyVldTZOoTxiU2KctTnuUQfyPTUinM4TfiDxp_xCV1d_2uiEY_UsV8J_7YQqgHxjU3gM/s1600/SAM_3683.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjg3fgGLd0OX9iBnTHfppnDXNoXCDDPbPCFuKl9_-FAcv_W4kW6BBOqZZMCm7q0BbgibAEZx-cgyVldTZOoTxiU2KctTnuUQfyPTUinM4TfiDxp_xCV1d_2uiEY_UsV8J_7YQqgHxjU3gM/s400/SAM_3683.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
Then I used Essence Special Effect Topper: The Evil Witch to paint 8 of my nails. It took two to three coats of the color on each nail to get the desired effect of the glitter.<br />
I loved how the glitter pieces were large and rounded- you don't often see a glitter polish like that.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPI-KHZN6641yn0sfGyGP_5jKuWNXUEHESCCmzNCzYPQLN3CKG9wNc4ApTEo82I9545hVkce11zDxJQUHy2KCJAs_aAFlY9YQ7sdmbjaNk2RQWEoMyTG9UgwKK_KbbQh58gkxEiY1IfAY/s1600/SAM_3690.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPI-KHZN6641yn0sfGyGP_5jKuWNXUEHESCCmzNCzYPQLN3CKG9wNc4ApTEo82I9545hVkce11zDxJQUHy2KCJAs_aAFlY9YQ7sdmbjaNk2RQWEoMyTG9UgwKK_KbbQh58gkxEiY1IfAY/s400/SAM_3690.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
Then I painted one nail on each hand with Essence Special Effect Topper: The Huntsman.<br />
What I love about this polish? The glitter flecks were all different shapes and sizes. Plus, it had real glitter in it. It shined and sparkled and looked fabulous.<br />
Look closer...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmuDqIXDoGIbwcd8JIX5_BhB0oE_3mwGqaC47tjKLs1WAHl_9KoJgbRUI8VpV9dzStnc4Ytt0_MIOeSNE8itVz42FUWG2T5vtxeKINKrwD8nLKD9WJFRr-7B5Ria9-KCZnn8Hz5b_moeQ/s1600/SAM_3693.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmuDqIXDoGIbwcd8JIX5_BhB0oE_3mwGqaC47tjKLs1WAHl_9KoJgbRUI8VpV9dzStnc4Ytt0_MIOeSNE8itVz42FUWG2T5vtxeKINKrwD8nLKD9WJFRr-7B5Ria9-KCZnn8Hz5b_moeQ/s400/SAM_3693.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
For both the purple and gold glitter polish, the clear polish was wonderful. It was not goopy or sticky or anything - it glided on nicely and held the glitter in well.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I wore this mani - coincidentally actually- to go see the Snow White movie with some friends. It was good! :)<br />
<br />
Base coat: Seche Base<br />
Base color: The Color Workshop Nala nail color in Bronze<br />
Purple glitter: Essence Snow White Collection Special Effect Topper: The Evil Witch<br />
Gold glitter: Essence Snow White Collection Special Effect Topper: The Huntsman<br />
Top coat: Seche Vite<br />
<br />

I was going for a leopard print but it didn't quite come out like I had imagined. So instead of calling these leopard nails I'm calling them Fred Flinstone nails because that's what they remind me of.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRMZEQxHu7ED2ib1YBrRa3JbZHfiMe4XEjG7TfSUOI-oT2D8J_CaXujGOUtj8SSoQ7DNd_FalTuyE_N5sE6ufjIs8P3AgyiaV6MBG3n_-rWalFCcyVYVFzHgjGf3RLnf_z8xhi3jUky96y/s1600/DSCN3546.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRMZEQxHu7ED2ib1YBrRa3JbZHfiMe4XEjG7TfSUOI-oT2D8J_CaXujGOUtj8SSoQ7DNd_FalTuyE_N5sE6ufjIs8P3AgyiaV6MBG3n_-rWalFCcyVYVFzHgjGf3RLnf_z8xhi3jUky96y/s320/DSCN3546.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
See what I mean? They look similar right? Well at least the colors are kind of similar to me :) <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3NOQWyuMkSn0K7fcj9FfEXl34h_Ooz76g-dQJEGJgdPlfxyxuVyzVTuur89QCGJZGmpF8pCZfjS9OkAHVI8nyxBAtqLPa-HLhSoVqJoQyh1r9gpD-TTKu97zkdHYq5bIHngnwb9acr5ep/s1600/DSCN3519.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3NOQWyuMkSn0K7fcj9FfEXl34h_Ooz76g-dQJEGJgdPlfxyxuVyzVTuur89QCGJZGmpF8pCZfjS9OkAHVI8nyxBAtqLPa-HLhSoVqJoQyh1r9gpD-TTKu97zkdHYq5bIHngnwb9acr5ep/s320/DSCN3519.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This is what I used to get this design. From left to right; Seche Vite top coat, Maybelline Color Show - Coral Crush, Wet n Wild Megalast - I need a Refresh Mint, and A black striper mine is from color club. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRYevUXeZMk6LQPdF2SBnTZ0EE-NVRW_CqSebkJV0eNYc3GOiWLcCeD1tSmNjUCRZCQIKZW99TY8XMBrujQy1jkzF-DmxW-USLlMKyw6D_ucLMTnQt79t2PvcSN1iK_bKbs_ZESq1ZYniV/s1600/DSCN3526.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRYevUXeZMk6LQPdF2SBnTZ0EE-NVRW_CqSebkJV0eNYc3GOiWLcCeD1tSmNjUCRZCQIKZW99TY8XMBrujQy1jkzF-DmxW-USLlMKyw6D_ucLMTnQt79t2PvcSN1iK_bKbs_ZESq1ZYniV/s320/DSCN3526.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
First I did my base coat of Coral Crush. I had just bought this color and had to do something to jazz it up a little and I was thinking why not leopard spots?? It sounded good to me so I took my black striper and made some bracket looking shapes and some dots just randomly through out my nails. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgi4msHkGYHuktAZotidBq9sRp5onxiMlijlzXk_yajT2AZwfoDDC1AsE1N9Hfrur3n1Nau_3RYe7H6_BGK_w_Puwmr_dsh_R0QcoF-Fe11FysHPKWdmxTJF8JqVP5U_dF-C5_CIJ-qC1_I/s1600/DSCN3527.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgi4msHkGYHuktAZotidBq9sRp5onxiMlijlzXk_yajT2AZwfoDDC1AsE1N9Hfrur3n1Nau_3RYe7H6_BGK_w_Puwmr_dsh_R0QcoF-Fe11FysHPKWdmxTJF8JqVP5U_dF-C5_CIJ-qC1_I/s320/DSCN3527.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
After I did this I picked a contrasting color( I need a refresh mint) and added dots to all of the brackets and I was thinking Tah Dah Leopard! Ehh Not really. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDTI232k0qe8PAVG1TIuBWfesN6xw0W7VEy_2AeVd7u__Xgz-fQzxH6NGdlZz9r2nLoay6k7VrLRWEg8KZiZa3A5D0VQAu5RyC5gG5NtY9a4rwVQjdkFMD6p_4Lyoy4Acvi6QIhCWmJDla/s1600/DSCN3535.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDTI232k0qe8PAVG1TIuBWfesN6xw0W7VEy_2AeVd7u__Xgz-fQzxH6NGdlZz9r2nLoay6k7VrLRWEg8KZiZa3A5D0VQAu5RyC5gG5NtY9a4rwVQjdkFMD6p_4Lyoy4Acvi6QIhCWmJDla/s320/DSCN3535.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This is what I got not quite the leopard I was going for(next time I'll practice first.) But I still really liked them and the orangey and blue colors reminded me of Fred Flinstone so there you have it! Fred Flinstone nails :) <br />
<br />
<br />

</div>
So I did feather nails close to a year ago and while shopping at Micheal's the other day I realized that hey those where really cool and that I should do them again so hear we are Feather Nails!! :) <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-ubTlvMwpffvtyo__G1dRfB__SnEr2JmynAi98V7E9k2ghRO4ba0_p6A0ftt8gYc5ClUpdBIcfCxE5-wDrbz5_gXcdevjnFKw0HtvtsQrgOsWIhtQd2ul1r_YGp4qKJbX1VjGPXNv5vKA/s1600/DSCN3507.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-ubTlvMwpffvtyo__G1dRfB__SnEr2JmynAi98V7E9k2ghRO4ba0_p6A0ftt8gYc5ClUpdBIcfCxE5-wDrbz5_gXcdevjnFKw0HtvtsQrgOsWIhtQd2ul1r_YGp4qKJbX1VjGPXNv5vKA/s320/DSCN3507.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Ok so these may look difficult to do but trust me they are much easier then regular nail art that's for sure!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1mAWJ5WK8p-TLYn4wLEfvEq7rzXEEVWJZuj7E3rTPmXC-0eE_xgYyuAwFrQgnk7Q8qI2bWK6Unos5_ISBfs916DJs6o40Njp_W81igQD6JUcVoHDahyphenhyphenSFokzUkvmZzL-3vWUGfIsqwOVL/s1600/DSCN3464.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1mAWJ5WK8p-TLYn4wLEfvEq7rzXEEVWJZuj7E3rTPmXC-0eE_xgYyuAwFrQgnk7Q8qI2bWK6Unos5_ISBfs916DJs6o40Njp_W81igQD6JUcVoHDahyphenhyphenSFokzUkvmZzL-3vWUGfIsqwOVL/s320/DSCN3464.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
So this is what I used Started with a base coat of my favorite Nail Life Nail Revitilizer in Original, then I used 2 coats of Sally Hansen Smooth and Perfect in Linen and after I was done I topped it all off with Seche Vite top coat of course! And of course the thing that made this manicure possible feathers!! I picked these up at Micheal's and they are multi colored spotted feathers and they where only a few dollars, I would definitely recommend experimenting with all different colors for this mani!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikjKWFAc0V17updf_UPZVqEC8NXNOxzdKobkkKZNDwpvmtjw5TAGTOVA4W1-FuSvorlix_yi8XmAgO4yGqMQw_grxg2HQ2LgQS7M6Gg008069XPQULYOhm6UOkTWIjIZUX68p52z9LBHWt/s1600/DSCN3471.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikjKWFAc0V17updf_UPZVqEC8NXNOxzdKobkkKZNDwpvmtjw5TAGTOVA4W1-FuSvorlix_yi8XmAgO4yGqMQw_grxg2HQ2LgQS7M6Gg008069XPQULYOhm6UOkTWIjIZUX68p52z9LBHWt/s320/DSCN3471.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
To start pick out your feathers for your nails. When I bought my bag of feathers I picked the one with the biggest nicest looking feathers in it. This was a mistake! Because you're not going to be putting huge feathers on your nails just little itty bitty ones. So if you go out looking for feathers for your nails I recommend picking the bag with a bunch of little one instead of the bag with a bunch of big ones. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjorFSZt9Qhj2RckgbjwoM1EUxGdErwWk1DTy41aYafNedA-3klpIyw_9-h80l0q4ciRbm88Q10PXtHKv1HTrwEc_kHs8brJABLkHKkF3HwFjT4s-4HQQ599aTTVvQ2K3Fvg2WKfNwMluWW/s1600/DSCN3472.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjorFSZt9Qhj2RckgbjwoM1EUxGdErwWk1DTy41aYafNedA-3klpIyw_9-h80l0q4ciRbm88Q10PXtHKv1HTrwEc_kHs8brJABLkHKkF3HwFjT4s-4HQQ599aTTVvQ2K3Fvg2WKfNwMluWW/s320/DSCN3472.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
After your first coat of polish dried and you have applied your second before its dry all you do is stick a feather on your wet nail. Easy peasy! You wanna do this to one nail at a time so that the polish stays wet. <br />

I though they looked pretty cool like this but DEFINITELY not practical lol. So you gotta trim them up just take nail clippers or cuticle nippers and cut them off right at the tip. After I did that I let them dry completely and them buffed the tips just to make sure nothing was sticking out anywhere. And when you're all done trimming everything up then apply your top coat. Because the feathers are not completely flat to get that flat shiny polished look your gonna need a couple layers of top coat. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjdFoxUOIRVOYCYckxy18rR-bKE3dNrDNj8_1xLrwhRBL02pDNPhCSFoefNoctz-Dr4TJx67DU0QX-3uRD-_IX9cibHglCgLE-tzaXpixH8pYNIlIoO_y5TqL06xL8yRCZnZDoCaxBile3/s1600/DSCN3494.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjdFoxUOIRVOYCYckxy18rR-bKE3dNrDNj8_1xLrwhRBL02pDNPhCSFoefNoctz-Dr4TJx67DU0QX-3uRD-_IX9cibHglCgLE-tzaXpixH8pYNIlIoO_y5TqL06xL8yRCZnZDoCaxBile3/s320/DSCN3494.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
But that's it really nothing to it! Now I experimented with putting a different base color under your nails before putting on the feathers and to get that to look right your gonna have to wait until the color dries and then apply a clear coat of what ever you have handy and then stick the feathers to that. If you stick them directly to the colored polish the feathers get lost and it just doesn't look right. <br />
<br />

Your nails look beautiful they are just getting to the point where they are long enough to do some really cool designs with, they are all the same shape and size. And then it happens!! The dreaded break the one that happens right at begining of the nail and you have to cut it down to a nub and look lop sided for weeks until it grows out...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5zg69qRGENa0q55Mmwxo5K3Hz-elnM-IgoqSo-aWB6rCP_of1pecoYYHR-9tOemiXZ-dN2ceWYddYL_kIa3UIDSOwcMO-q5U7c9WNlNisgKK852M6pzY6YCcL_gNDXaSsvr8QGa0dvV7N/s1600/DSCN3447+-+Copy.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5zg69qRGENa0q55Mmwxo5K3Hz-elnM-IgoqSo-aWB6rCP_of1pecoYYHR-9tOemiXZ-dN2ceWYddYL_kIa3UIDSOwcMO-q5U7c9WNlNisgKK852M6pzY6YCcL_gNDXaSsvr8QGa0dvV7N/s320/DSCN3447+-+Copy.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Scary huh? Well you don't have to suffer with nubs anymore! I'm gonna tell you the trick to fixing your torn nail. I have 2 different ways to do this and you can do either depending on what you have on had and if you can make it to the store or not. <br />
<br />
<br />
The first way is to go to Sally's or your local beauty supply store and pick up a nail repair kit. In this tutorial I'm using Orly's nail repair kit. The kit comes with 3 things nail repair powder, a little buffer and a bottle of nail glue.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgT0b3Afs5C4Y-PflT2ahS_oDDimNDbf182gEqTBGSetunl_mwpmQ9SksTb6MXKA4mXPD_ib3aenXfOvYMhNwtM-3Fylq9YH_EpOsScjcBO1utgw7AuuIQsSA8Et_MwHrhKwO4PfYWVRfpw/s1600/DSCN3445.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="238" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgT0b3Afs5C4Y-PflT2ahS_oDDimNDbf182gEqTBGSetunl_mwpmQ9SksTb6MXKA4mXPD_ib3aenXfOvYMhNwtM-3Fylq9YH_EpOsScjcBO1utgw7AuuIQsSA8Et_MwHrhKwO4PfYWVRfpw/s320/DSCN3445.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The first thing you have to do is to make sure your torn nail is clean and free of any nail polish. Be careful not to rip the nail any more then it already is. After you do this you paint over the crack in your nail with the nail glue and let it sit for just a second until its tacky and then dip your nail into the nail repair poweder.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4a3yKnV3eQGVozXibC5IbPjxA8Zp8FEU2dxhqR_uxys-Zh1AzB6OT7NgKixJx9lihwbR9IwWrXjQGEJ9MV2K_rOLy2ZQsMiHUQ96LVmW-teRHCwvtIyGvvbc4x4wmsT170_AAUojat8dX/s1600/DSCN3452.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4a3yKnV3eQGVozXibC5IbPjxA8Zp8FEU2dxhqR_uxys-Zh1AzB6OT7NgKixJx9lihwbR9IwWrXjQGEJ9MV2K_rOLy2ZQsMiHUQ96LVmW-teRHCwvtIyGvvbc4x4wmsT170_AAUojat8dX/s320/DSCN3452.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
When you take your nail out of the powder brush off the access and let it dry COMPLETELY! I can't stress that part enough because if you don't let it dry then the whole thing gets ruined and most of the time I just had to end up cutting my nail. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDmxY3koSpPK3DvdXZQF0URwJG5IAkeGHYj7AddRgUQ3yxrOXvA5tHOPrSkb_sXTV4FMBmvoLslyOd1IDEXB1p78tAhy_7orul-D4E8E2bbmChZ4edM8U1JqxblIuW1io_GWmZ4vL6IrS-/s1600/DSCN3455.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDmxY3koSpPK3DvdXZQF0URwJG5IAkeGHYj7AddRgUQ3yxrOXvA5tHOPrSkb_sXTV4FMBmvoLslyOd1IDEXB1p78tAhy_7orul-D4E8E2bbmChZ4edM8U1JqxblIuW1io_GWmZ4vL6IrS-/s320/DSCN3455.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
After it has dried all the way it will be hard and all you had to do is buff it smooth with the buffer that came with it or one of your own. I used my own because the one that came with it was too little to control for me. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcwDcbaOv3Vi4CIvFtJWhq-GY1poLQQ-PQQRPbNr-UDL1FJJnTH8eSlQk1OMfxEidbUhXJu8fX4IxBpCfNPNZ0QbnL1MOK2xIqvWzSmolyyP73fHKRdqJUF7mf75XN-_WMpdn1FsAMfJGT/s1600/DSCN3459.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcwDcbaOv3Vi4CIvFtJWhq-GY1poLQQ-PQQRPbNr-UDL1FJJnTH8eSlQk1OMfxEidbUhXJu8fX4IxBpCfNPNZ0QbnL1MOK2xIqvWzSmolyyP73fHKRdqJUF7mf75XN-_WMpdn1FsAMfJGT/s320/DSCN3459.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
You can still kind of tell where the rip was but ts patched all up now and as soon as you put polish on top of it you can't even tell there was even a problem!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The second way to patch a broken nail is for all you hot tea drinkers our there. The first step is the same make sure the nail is free of all polish and dirt. Then take a hot tea bag and empty out all of the tea. After its all cleaned out cut a patch out of the bag about the size of your tear in your nail. Then using nail glue of super glue (both work just as good as the other one) glue the patch on to the tear. Again let it dry all the way before buffing it out smooth. </div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj79lRPKo2KLy8bajBNdXYnkgQkhBlYVWXCHPc4MD93ibMSkniLIv4-rnHtyegmuhIt7T6_sM-i4ZEk1LlEEnIMOAY2jf67LFU5bsiZm9y0WPplUHVDG3xIeGl6N_drIYCj94_kyi2X9Kcd/s1600/DSCN3458.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj79lRPKo2KLy8bajBNdXYnkgQkhBlYVWXCHPc4MD93ibMSkniLIv4-rnHtyegmuhIt7T6_sM-i4ZEk1LlEEnIMOAY2jf67LFU5bsiZm9y0WPplUHVDG3xIeGl6N_drIYCj94_kyi2X9Kcd/s320/DSCN3458.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Both ways work just as good and as long as you don't mess with it the patches will last unti the next time you use polish remover to take off your polish or until the nail grows back. Which ever comes first lol with me its always until I use remover again.</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>

Since I think "halo mani" sounds nicest, that's what I'm going with. <br />
<br />
I was pretty hesitant about this design when it first started popping up all over Pinterest and Glamour and nail blogs. It's definitely different, and very interesting. It's all over the red carpet and runways, so it's fashionable. But the black seeping in from the skin looks almost a little bit morbid... I actually surprised myself when I decided to try it out myself.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The verdict: I love it. Like, seriously, it's one my favorite designs ever. Chic, simple, classy.<br />
<br />
I paired the popular halo design with a black french tip.<br />
<br />

<br />
I started with a base coat of my favorite base, Revlon Multi-Care 965. Then I did two coats of a polish I've had for some time but have never used before.<br />
<br />
It's the prettiest, nudest nude I've ever worn. It has a really pretty pearlescent shine to it. Two coats of this polish is perfect! I could definitely see this beautiful color being worn on it's own if you do three coats of it. It's so shiny it doesn't even need a top coat, IMO.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Then, I painted black French tips. Since I painted free-hand tips, it's easiest to paint straight across the tip of the nail and let the paint get on your skin. That's an easy post-mani clean up.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsdlq7R-wdsaQjqnr34xWpvWYKOrLBteor-NlJtAx_JyNaCjCscbhO-vNCQbEwaVNGOiDS0-GeZvb7_SmxGK9Nn7t-lIgNFX04TapdtY126fPfo3_CyVBiqB3AG1Y-ehz3PWb7iAM2IG0/s1600/Tips.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsdlq7R-wdsaQjqnr34xWpvWYKOrLBteor-NlJtAx_JyNaCjCscbhO-vNCQbEwaVNGOiDS0-GeZvb7_SmxGK9Nn7t-lIgNFX04TapdtY126fPfo3_CyVBiqB3AG1Y-ehz3PWb7iAM2IG0/s320/Tips.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Then, using a straight-tipped nail art brush, I carefully painted the edges of my nail closest to the cuticles.<br />
Easy peasy!<br />

When I asked my husband what he thought of my finished mani, he called it "businessy." I like it so much more on my own hands than I did in the photos on Pinterest. Photos really don't do justice to this gorgeous design. I feel like the design paired with the high contrast of nude and black together is very high-fashion and chic.<br />

First I started with black nails then did the striping and dotting with white before putting the neon on top so that the design would stand out. The designs where just totally random and maybe that's what this look was not my favorite neon look I had this week.<br />
<br />

<br />
Now it is super hard to take a picture of neon colors but just imagine all these colors as neons like highlighter colors! Because that's what color they where and they looked pretty darn cool! Now these where "ok" in my book but since I'm a little bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my nails I had to redo them. This is what I used.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

China Glaze - In the Lime Light. China Glaze - Pink Voltage, Sinful Colors - Dream On, Milani - Dude Blue, Nina Ultra Pro - Solar Flare, Wet and Wild - Black Creme and FINALLY I topped it all off with Color Club - 0-60 Top Coat. <br />
<br />
Ok so I didn't get a picture of this but I started painting all of my fingers a different color, since most of these colors are neons they all tool about 3+ coats. after they where all the way dry I used my stripping tape (which is pictured on the bottom of the polish pic) and put a piece across the tips of all my nails. I got my tape online somewhere because I've never been able to find it in any stores around me but you can used just regular scotch taped cut into strips if you want to you can ever cut the tape into funky waves or shapes to make the look even cooler. Ok so after applying the tape I painted my nails black let dry for just a few seconds and then ripped the tape off! <br />
<br />

And tah dah! Perfect lines! Now this is the look I ended up sticking with until I had to work and it ruined them :( Stupid work! But anywhoo this is my summer black and neon look and they are oh so cool! lol <br />

And I created it differently than I've ever made gradients before. This time, I used a fan nail art brush. It was *very* easy and it looks fantastic.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Instead of the hassle of sponging or the difficulty of blending with regular brushes, using a fan brush allowed me one stroke per nail to make this design. Yes, just one stroke! wow!<br />
<br />
This is the brush I used. It is called a fan brush and it is part of a set of nail art brushes I bought from Amazon.de.<br />

<br />
First, I practiced using the brush a bit, just to get the hang of it. I tend to practice brush strokes and make color dots on the back of tissue boxes. This is a very well-used tissue box, lol.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8-r65dQZO8uxXtzgPp_sW7Tb-rPE6mdrpIThSUo5lijqllv1nvpmrhh6w-rlTdeXKTG7OmPWfiUz2ehvRC-h8K5YgNMjn8bmIcgLh3e4With_7O5pksqYDaf-DDoujg-o-Va9VXJ3p00/s1600/Tissue+box.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8-r65dQZO8uxXtzgPp_sW7Tb-rPE6mdrpIThSUo5lijqllv1nvpmrhh6w-rlTdeXKTG7OmPWfiUz2ehvRC-h8K5YgNMjn8bmIcgLh3e4With_7O5pksqYDaf-DDoujg-o-Va9VXJ3p00/s320/Tissue+box.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I played with a few color combinations before I settled on blue to purple to pink. I put color splashes of blue, purple and pink in that order one after another- close to each other but not touching. <br />
<br />
I simply dragged the brush through the colors, pulling them downward. Then I dragged the brush from left to right across my nail. Simple as that! It does leave a good amount of polish all over your skin, though, so it requires a bit of clean up.<br />
<br />

But, with some polish remover on q-tips for the big stains and an angled nail art brush dipped in polish remover for the cuticles, it looks perfect.<br />

One of the best things about this mani is that it was just as easy to do on my right hand as it is on my left, which I know can be an issue for many DIY manicures.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
So who read this book when they where a little kid? I did and I always loved the colors and adventures of The Rainbow Fish. This book is where my inspiration for my latest nails came from.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjw8VorvYCAmzmwl2w6_2d2wHZ519Jm0s9c89UImSYtZAqr-vQ7YptSBa5cSW4No8A94vwKyTCAfrPI2C7q3lviYwxmVnV7gllFQOPleRhpiNtIUaPn52WZ_-rV6ogteGKyH5bNaZV0J_xK/s1600/DSCN3265.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="261" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjw8VorvYCAmzmwl2w6_2d2wHZ519Jm0s9c89UImSYtZAqr-vQ7YptSBa5cSW4No8A94vwKyTCAfrPI2C7q3lviYwxmVnV7gllFQOPleRhpiNtIUaPn52WZ_-rV6ogteGKyH5bNaZV0J_xK/s320/DSCN3265.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
These are my fish scale nails! I love the way they look so complex but how they are really so easy to do! Here's how I did mine.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKSxmTcp0TYH9hpWz-12SgiWMwrt01p5YDlSpOH4nHMIJidbtE6qUXhis8EDOuOS_VALO6kbFGgEon5Wanx7lklPoXtCCageY4wDuSCzcYNshB6CdmyqVZgOzy0ce1Z_YWXT-6xRvz0I-w/s1600/DSCN3241.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKSxmTcp0TYH9hpWz-12SgiWMwrt01p5YDlSpOH4nHMIJidbtE6qUXhis8EDOuOS_VALO6kbFGgEon5Wanx7lklPoXtCCageY4wDuSCzcYNshB6CdmyqVZgOzy0ce1Z_YWXT-6xRvz0I-w/s320/DSCN3241.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
These are the colors I picked to do my nails. They are (from left to right) Cosmetics Arts in neon pink I'm not positive the name because the sticker came off, China Glaze - Aquadelic, Sally Hansen - Limestone, China Glaze - Royal Tease, and Sinful Colors - Snow Me white. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOZuzKIZajZlQSYBgWzsqzU29oQ0F1zR5r_OkUJ5HQxwGtDFaj5RafqI0lKPJqWVP1crLyiBYxDGhz1iKPHEyaZlD76SwA3WylY8Kp2cs3I2QSFAcCQLcsS3MLWqbokG9s0iB1Y1C3dn-C/s1600/DSCN3242.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOZuzKIZajZlQSYBgWzsqzU29oQ0F1zR5r_OkUJ5HQxwGtDFaj5RafqI0lKPJqWVP1crLyiBYxDGhz1iKPHEyaZlD76SwA3WylY8Kp2cs3I2QSFAcCQLcsS3MLWqbokG9s0iB1Y1C3dn-C/s320/DSCN3242.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I started with a base coat of course and then painted all but my ring fingers in Aquadelic and painted my ring fingers in Snow Me White so that when I put the colors on top they would really pop.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZjwqg6FAfI5i-f1LHOgzBKjPyBPiiujTIHQsW3_TwmtLwIpok2vL3Um2y9RcbQIV0lSXUDV1m9HsMGIClNMeLZM3GG8GIb1rZlUdVmPuY7Pn4nz6QP-ttf-sM4PvLY53SzO7EnlNdOA7u/s1600/DSCN3252.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="268" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZjwqg6FAfI5i-f1LHOgzBKjPyBPiiujTIHQsW3_TwmtLwIpok2vL3Um2y9RcbQIV0lSXUDV1m9HsMGIClNMeLZM3GG8GIb1rZlUdVmPuY7Pn4nz6QP-ttf-sM4PvLY53SzO7EnlNdOA7u/s320/DSCN3252.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
After that dried completely I put drops of all four colors on a piece of paper and used the top of a tooth pick for the dots the I layered on top of eachother. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghU60EDO3cbiMPJVRh35p-j2TpLCytQbCG0QXu5PjfplRTyb-F6L2k5fROaAhAUqIKsAyEqEWdDXpk2D8jhK7_rUIEX4OwaFKzerR1tGj9IG3x-rxQWsZUjLIdSDfbp-BLC-6MOeiL7s59/s1600/DSCN3253.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghU60EDO3cbiMPJVRh35p-j2TpLCytQbCG0QXu5PjfplRTyb-F6L2k5fROaAhAUqIKsAyEqEWdDXpk2D8jhK7_rUIEX4OwaFKzerR1tGj9IG3x-rxQWsZUjLIdSDfbp-BLC-6MOeiL7s59/s320/DSCN3253.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I started at the top of the nail and did an over lapping pattern alternating colors all the way to the bottom. Once I got to the bottom I cleaned it up a little bit with my angle brush and a little acetone. After I was done I decided that it was sparkely enough for me so before my Seche Vite top coat I added a coat of China Glaze - Fairy Dust just for a little shine.<br />

I think they really do look like the fish scales and I'm very happy with my results. They ended up being a little time consuming, I couldn't imagine doing them on every nail! But I love them, as I do all of my nail art :) <br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizw2lYOZrR5gG2sjhaLkaCQTG3Gbt68IQHLbTrLQk8mhaLPPb7MrymLAT4FcXm0JkNB4KZqyBopaVOZFCptDi25HAjAcRKAm6NYcMy23PsnelUEuh8OZ-SRCAxh3gTj66W1tMgE7flv7o/s1600/CherryBlossom.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizw2lYOZrR5gG2sjhaLkaCQTG3Gbt68IQHLbTrLQk8mhaLPPb7MrymLAT4FcXm0JkNB4KZqyBopaVOZFCptDi25HAjAcRKAm6NYcMy23PsnelUEuh8OZ-SRCAxh3gTj66W1tMgE7flv7o/s400/CherryBlossom.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
They're not actually even on my nails- a friend requested I do some flowers on her nails. Fara and I went through some different designs on Pinterest and settled on a pretty cherry blossom design. We changed around the colors and like I said - I just winged it.<br />
<br />
It's all free-handed. The black branches are done with a striper brush, the black and green dots are done with a ball-point pen dipped in polish. The dark pink flowers are down with a regular paintbrush.<br />
<br />
Unfortunately, I never took the rest of the photos I took of this mani off my iPhone, and my phone was recently stolen. :( So this is the only photo I have of it. Here is a close-up of the design on the thumb.<br />

This is what works best for me you may need to tweak it a little to make it best for you!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUKHe1mH6imum33jmBMGdAC5J1FcHlFaFO1Z8pPLglImC45ae5g1QX9GaQUOD3LVav-7ukRMAFJXgHH5BS-_ysv9n9mceybP55ubw0b7oNgEMMvFrvwCZvqJy9ukP5vyGtTqaKJZFcSeoX/s1600/DSCN31243.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUKHe1mH6imum33jmBMGdAC5J1FcHlFaFO1Z8pPLglImC45ae5g1QX9GaQUOD3LVav-7ukRMAFJXgHH5BS-_ysv9n9mceybP55ubw0b7oNgEMMvFrvwCZvqJy9ukP5vyGtTqaKJZFcSeoX/s320/DSCN31243.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
These are the things I use to start and finish my manicure! <br />
<br />
1. First I take off any polish that I have left on my nails. I normally use pure acetone and a cotton pad. If I'm wearing sparkles I use the tin foil technique to take off my polish here's the link to that tutorial - <a href="http://prettyinpolish0.blogspot.com/2012/04/how-to-remove-your-nail-polish-with-tin.html">http://prettyinpolish0.blogspot.com/2012/04/how-to-remove-your-nail-polish-with-tin.html</a><br />
<br />
2. I use a cuticle remover/softener to remove any access cuticles. The one I prefer is the one by Sally Hansen I'm not positive what its called but the gel is green and it says on the bottle that it is enriched with Jojoba and Kiwi Extracts. I leave the Gel on my nails for about five minutes then use my cuticle pusher to take off any access cuticles. I then wipe whats left on to a paper towel.<br />
<br />
3. If any of my nails are really uneven then I use my nail clippers to trim them all down to the right size.<br />
<br />
4. After they are all the same size I use a file to clean under my nails and to file them a little and make them nice and smooth.<br />
<br />
5. After the tips are smooth I use a buffer to make sure the tops are smooth too! I used to use the ones from the store that make your nails super shiny but after a while I felt like that was just making my nails thinner then they need to be. So I switched to just a very fine buffer that I got from Sally's I'm always wearing polish so I don't really care if my actual nail is shiny or not that's what I have my top coat for! <br />
<br />
6. By this point your nails are a little messy and full of nail dust and dried out from the acetone so I use my Mango Magic cuticle oil that I massage into all my fingers and then wash my hands to remove any left over anything. <br />
<br />
7. Almost done! I use a little acetone to remove the cuticle oil from my nails and then I use my favorite base coat so far it is Nail Life Nail Revitilizer in Original.<br />
<br />
8. Step 8 isn't pictured because it is always different but it is (of course) to polish your nails in any way you want weather it be sponging, nail art, french manicure, or just a single color.<br />
<br />
9. After my fresh manicure is dry I top it with a coat of Seche Vite and ta da! Almost done!!<br />
<br />
10. This step isn't always needed but when I'm being a little sloppy with my nail painting I use an angled brush dipped into some acetone to clean up around then edges and then All Done!!! <br />
<br />
I hope this helped with any questions you may have had on how to prep your nails for a perfect manicure! Thanks for reading and if you want like us on Facebook for more Pretty in polish updates! <br />

On Mother's Day, my husband, daughter and I went to the local Fruhlingsfest- Spring Festival. There was a cosmetic booth there selling makeup and nail polish (why at a festival? go figure...) so my husband bought me a few new polishes- three of which were neon! Yay!<br />
<br />
I also have new dotting tools I wanted to try out...<br />
So I used my new dotting tools with my new neon polishes and came up with this really, really cool mani. I love it way more than I was expecting.<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCf3nVWcgqa6h1qD2KYsszotWcazrdhOUQ4pc9t83U6zls1AA0_HQAK6eMzG5ajIkpzdxnqtXlW80wabZCGoRBYxfxZg7SnZP3ruMzRBZeTsBnm3pTZ5jAV7o3j__q2GluzkO5S1zp91Q/s1600/Neon+polka+4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCf3nVWcgqa6h1qD2KYsszotWcazrdhOUQ4pc9t83U6zls1AA0_HQAK6eMzG5ajIkpzdxnqtXlW80wabZCGoRBYxfxZg7SnZP3ruMzRBZeTsBnm3pTZ5jAV7o3j__q2GluzkO5S1zp91Q/s400/Neon+polka+4.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
It's pretty awesome, right?!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicOT7ymzSSWQ_tyD7Y2v0I3z273ODDlEkSZcmlRu_zauKHeI8BpAnQwO88ukNeUY7aWUYyj6C1CrrWgBAaXrQtMicsX6MrQKglVuoyBe9oj779dRVJO6iwuVnlRUzTkUmyt4h6JwD_z-M/s1600/Neon+polka2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicOT7ymzSSWQ_tyD7Y2v0I3z273ODDlEkSZcmlRu_zauKHeI8BpAnQwO88ukNeUY7aWUYyj6C1CrrWgBAaXrQtMicsX6MrQKglVuoyBe9oj779dRVJO6iwuVnlRUzTkUmyt4h6JwD_z-M/s400/Neon+polka2.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
And a close up... <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I just love the way the color pops! I think if I were to do this again, I'd do fewer dots, but I still think this looks so great.<br />
If I had a blacklight, this mani would be under it ASAP!<br />
<br />
The black base is three coats of Sinful Colors Black on Black. I normally only use two coats, but I, forever being the optimist- painted the first two coats while my child was napping and my husband was at work. Duhhh... of course she woke up and you can only imagine what holding a very wiggly baby does to nails that aren't quite entirely dry... but a third coat fixed it no problem.<br />
<br />
The neon colors are Cosmetica Fanatica. I also have neon green, which I did not use for this design. These polishes specify that they are for acrylic nails, but I used them on my natural nails.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I've mostly just played around with stamping small designs and tip designs, until now. I tried a full-cover nail art stamp and I adore it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8BoIUNgMg7W_OSnOPSy65oPjJiU_xtPIfO_Rs8c1l-zNuOyMEUqUWrT77FPfo5sjBl0I7qNEMjT61WMFC9KIof8e100woQ0tTN-kmhXIom-R-TiOjLIt2uPYLA1czw9APFz_AzB-okHA/s1600/Stamping1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8BoIUNgMg7W_OSnOPSy65oPjJiU_xtPIfO_Rs8c1l-zNuOyMEUqUWrT77FPfo5sjBl0I7qNEMjT61WMFC9KIof8e100woQ0tTN-kmhXIom-R-TiOjLIt2uPYLA1czw9APFz_AzB-okHA/s400/Stamping1.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
I used a flowers and paisley design, it's cute and feminine.<br />
Here is a closer view of the design. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAA7rn-XtD8Gv8BS4vNoxasIZeslV3GKlqW7Xk4Hl-soBCp-iv5okR1BjazlwfOGT9ArYeZZkuX5cf4PtV6lnExc_S9IWtJk_4hJafYRsMnfP2ffFJnVrTOUuNOu_2Vatc0sQhBJIkdsc/s1600/Stamping3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAA7rn-XtD8Gv8BS4vNoxasIZeslV3GKlqW7Xk4Hl-soBCp-iv5okR1BjazlwfOGT9ArYeZZkuX5cf4PtV6lnExc_S9IWtJk_4hJafYRsMnfP2ffFJnVrTOUuNOu_2Vatc0sQhBJIkdsc/s400/Stamping3.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
I was originally going for a lighter pink base so that the white wouldn't stand out nearly as much, but I just couldn't resist trying it on top of a matted color. I do have a clear polish that will turn any color into matte, but I didn't want to layer too much.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This one is one of the coolest so far! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCOqcI1Ei4QX-JjVrZyBeN2gFri47YniYVCBWKLH_IyaAUWfoknkgFESgYwqH-6S5RYJpRqtph56BbUgRAWctxMOjhg7eVXS6p4I0djk8noYxN_-cXX10dz81dnZyxCdfX-_H-7iV9DtLU/s1600/DSCN3227.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCOqcI1Ei4QX-JjVrZyBeN2gFri47YniYVCBWKLH_IyaAUWfoknkgFESgYwqH-6S5RYJpRqtph56BbUgRAWctxMOjhg7eVXS6p4I0djk8noYxN_-cXX10dz81dnZyxCdfX-_H-7iV9DtLU/s320/DSCN3227.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Because I am a Pinterest-aholic I found these on Pintrest and put my own twist on them by switching up the colors. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiC5JGVKfagRXUtcJy3MzJoU44DeQpGmxmW9_OOiGbAcCR3ojxL5lWgyGi2T5Dx2sKT2kq3tX6rqZsnSNB_UkNmO-f2cxAGahLKrdOFsS05-glfDYOx-HV7ztsw9nc0bWnd5yAGm1g16Z9s/s1600/DSCN3223.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiC5JGVKfagRXUtcJy3MzJoU44DeQpGmxmW9_OOiGbAcCR3ojxL5lWgyGi2T5Dx2sKT2kq3tX6rqZsnSNB_UkNmO-f2cxAGahLKrdOFsS05-glfDYOx-HV7ztsw9nc0bWnd5yAGm1g16Z9s/s320/DSCN3223.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I used a base coat of Sally Hansen Smooth and Perfect - Linen. Then I did my french tips using Wet n Wild Megalast - I need a refresh-mint which is one of my newest colors and is absolutely awesome and I did my accent nail in Nina Ultra Pro - Pink Flamingo which in a great pink color. After everything dried I did the zebra stripes using a Color Club striper in the color Black. BTW the day I bought the Wet n Wild color I also bought a few Color Club stripers from Sally's and they are the best I've used yet! Nice thin polish to get the lines you want but also the colors show up really nice I will definitely be picking up more of these next time I go in because I have a coupon!! :) <br />

I picked out a few colors that I thought went with the orange and I decided they looked like a Florida sunset and that is what I decided to do! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9_Ns7M2rlro8WhvzZK8zwl701b8DHFwJZp-BGNei6et_qDUfp9SGoJYh25v8WjFa6dqNWpFT3YVXs8gMXf5mRFtTm8LJFr_5uc-iCN1ko8bX-xsUc-_Z2RktYCpkbGWrHC4FvZtwUTHXu/s1600/DSCN3161.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9_Ns7M2rlro8WhvzZK8zwl701b8DHFwJZp-BGNei6et_qDUfp9SGoJYh25v8WjFa6dqNWpFT3YVXs8gMXf5mRFtTm8LJFr_5uc-iCN1ko8bX-xsUc-_Z2RktYCpkbGWrHC4FvZtwUTHXu/s320/DSCN3161.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
They turned out better then I even expected! And I got TONS of compliments on them! This is how I did it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjh5t1BnNrXcu9IQPoDQ9uB-gczXkVXw2FKgOsiqP4_w8g-WfAG4CSfE8uL_y1yQpJ3sjFw0bEIUwKzrAZtAJfvkT2QXFjJMFNWqR2Sjthf6ZYlUtrdNbQDpiw-ohIobRXzC7fhMBMNA9_8/s1600/DSCN3136.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjh5t1BnNrXcu9IQPoDQ9uB-gczXkVXw2FKgOsiqP4_w8g-WfAG4CSfE8uL_y1yQpJ3sjFw0bEIUwKzrAZtAJfvkT2QXFjJMFNWqR2Sjthf6ZYlUtrdNbQDpiw-ohIobRXzC7fhMBMNA9_8/s320/DSCN3136.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I used 3 colors for the sunset part the orange is Nina's Ultra Pro - Orange Flame, the pink is a Cosmetic Arts color but the sticker fell off so i don't know the name but its a Neon Pink and the purple is Orly - Close Your Eyes. I started with my normal Nail Life base coat and finished with Seche Vite top coat to make it extra shiny. To start this look you need one of those white makeup sponges, you can get them at the dollar store they are super cheap!<br />

You have to paint the colors in the order you want directly on to the sponge. It works best when you get the sponge wet and then ring out as much water as possible because it stays a little damp and doesn't suck up as much nail polish. <br />

I tested mine out on a piece of paper first just to make sure that it looked like i wanted it to. After you get it looking like you want then instead of stamping on the paper you stamp it on your nails. <br />

I used an angled brush that you can get from any arts and crafts store and dipped it into pure acetone to clean up my cuticles. I also used a Qtip and some cotton pads for the bugger mess. Oh and I've used just a regular flat brush to clean up my cuticles but an angled one works SOOOOO much better! <br />
